Message Board Post:
I found James Casey buried in St. Louis Cemetery, with Mary Magdalen Ziegler Casey buried
with him. There are not individual markers for them; they are listed on the back of a
marker for Ellen DWYER MADIGAN GORMAN. I have no idea what the relationship is between
the Caseys and Ellen Dwyer.
In looking up the names of the Caseys in the plot and looking at the address for the
deceased in death records, I have been able to piece together the following about James
Casey's parents.
Father: Michael/Mike Casey b. ca. 1830 Ireland b 11 Feb 1890 Louisville KY
Mother: Mary Clancey b. ca 1842 Ireland
Children:
Mary Ann Casey b. 15 Oct 1857 (birth record lists mother's name) d. 13 Sep. 1878
Louisville, KY buried St. Louis Cemetery
James Casey b. ca 1858 d. 18 July 1891 Louisville KY buried St. Louis Cemetery
John Joseph Casey b. ca 1863 d. 11 Mar 1881 Louisville KY buried St. Louis Cemetery
Children of James Casey and Mary Magdalen Ziegler Casey:
Albert Michael Casey b. ca 1887 d. 6 Dec 1889 Louisville KY buried St Louis Cemetery
John Henry Casey b. ca. 1888 d. 23 Nov 1890 Louisville KY buried St Louis Cemetery
The Casey family lived at 836 Baxter Ave. This address appears in death records and in the
1880 census records. This address is located across the street from Church of the Advent,
and is now commercial property. The 1900 and 1910 censuses show Mary Magdalen Ziegler
Casey living on Logan Street.
What is the relationship with the Dwyer/Madigan/Gorman family?
