Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

No problem on my part but I wouldn't want my address going to everyone on the
list. Never know who lurks out there.
Who knows you may have helped someone with all the names and such. Hope
you took it in the spirit it was given. Not flaming. Just warning to be
cautious. World is too full of all kinds these days and can't be too careful.
Good Luck in ferreting out your Zieglers. Have problems with mine. Have
posted to the Lehigh Co. list for help in finding an address for Union
Cemetery where my 2G-Grandfather, Thomas Ziegler, is buried and not one bite.
Someday I will find it. Guess the people there aren't as friendly as
other county lists or else everyone figures that someone else has answered.
Take Care
Bev
Bev, you are right and I apologize to the list for having to read what should
have been sent to only one person.
I just received a copy of my last message to Allen when I didn't intend it to
go to the list. I hit "reply" and thought because I didn't hit "reply to
all" that my message was only going to one person. I will be aware and try
not to clutter everyone's mailbox.
Anne
P.S., since everyone now has my snail mail address, please feel free to send
me a valentine. <g>
MARY LOU: This is as close as I can come to your Jacob b. 1742 in York Co. PA,
His parents were Johann Jacob & Agnes (Schmidt) Ziegler, Johan & Agnes had 4
issues John George Philip, b, 1735 he m. Elizabeth Leib. John George, b, ?
he m. Anna M. Hamspacher in 1738. Anna C. b. 9-15-1744. Father of Jacob b.
5-15-1703, d. bef. 1765,Johan Jacob was born in Weiler, Baden, Germany.
Johann Jacob's father was George Philip Ziegler born in Weiler and came to
America in 1727 he was the first Ziegler to settle in York, Co. PA. Let me
know how this works out.
I neglected to mention in my last mail that Johann Jacob of Johann Philip
Ziegler was m. to Ester Buckwalter from Chester Co. PA. Does this shed any
light.
I will send you a few family charts containing the names you have mentioned,
I am no good on sending attachments, but will send snail mail if you like,
all I ask is that you reimburse me cost of postage. I hate to ask this but I
am being nickled and dimed to death almost every week sending mail. your cost
would be about $1.25, Must have your address.
Allen
Hi Allen
Thanks for writing. A group of about ten have been working on this family
(Johann Jacob Zeigler), so have quite a bit of information. Currently I have
upward of 300 Zeiglers in my data base. We started with Johann Jacob who
came to this country when he was about nine years old in 1746. His father,
Johann Phillipp was also an immigrant. Then we found three generations of
ancestors of Johann Phillipp to Hans Georg. Of course our data is not
complete on everyone (or perhaps I should say anyone!) We also have followed
some lines to today and have included as many descendants as we could.
I would love to have any information that you would care to add to our work,
and thanks for the connection to Phoebe Forrester. I will contact her.
Again, it was good of you to write.

There is a book at ACPL on the Mississinewa Cemetery in Wabash County which I also
need to relook at. You may find more specific information at the Wabash County Court
House after you check out the library. I remember seeing Ziegler's in their records
and wondering if they were related to my line, but no connection yet. You might want
to go to the ACPL home page at http://www.acpl.lib.in.us/ You will find several
Ziegler books at the ACPL. You might want to search their online card catalog to get
some book titles in advance. http://catalog.acpl.lib.in.us/uhtbin/cgisirsi/59/60/69
I found seven likely titles online including The Ziegler, Laker family of Indiana by
Patricia Feltz Cohen that I should take a look at . Let me know when you plan to go
and perhaps I can meet you there. I haven't been there in months and need to look at
some of the dozens of books I found in their catalog to look at.

My Great Grandfather was Henry Orrin Zeigler b. 11-29-1855 in MS..
His Father was Lewis J. Zeigler b. 12-27-1822 in AL. They lived in
Holmes
County, MS. Does this sound familiar to anyone. I don't have any
information prior to Lewis. Thanks.
Donna
No problem Allen, I will be happy to reimburse you. Maybe I am not aware of the
quantity of material you will be sending. If you give me a cost estimate, I can
send you a check with my address. Just tell me how you want to handle the detail
of the reimbursement.

Gee Allen, how much of the Zeiglers do you have on file? I will have to make
more copies of what I have and send to you. I have the Native American
Indian side (Betsy Taylors side) of the Zeiglers, not the German side.
(Philips side) Just let me know. Arlene
Hello Donna, Sounds like my Zeiglers are much earlier then yours. I do know
that many a Zeiglers/Zieglers were in Yourk, Berk and other Counties in
Pennsylvania. The immigrated to Ameica in 1770 and before. My Philip was
born 1805, I think in Berk County. Then married Betsy Taylor and moved out
west to Kansas territory as where he and the rest are buried. ok I am here if
you need me. Those names do not sound familiar to me. Sorry. Keep in
touch. Arlene AM1700(a)aol.com
Are there any family trees for Ziegler that are available over the interenet? As
a point of reference, I would love to see where your search has taken you. Again,
like you, I am sure there are many relations that are the same throughout the
lineage. Since I am just beginning his journey, I would love to have your tree as
a point of reference (especially when finding associated names).
Also, I am planning to go to the Allen Co. Library in Ft. Wayne in the next month
to see what I can find in their geneology library. Do you have any suggestions on
where to start. I think if I can find cemetery records for Mississanewa Cemetery
in Wabash Co. I may be able to make some headway.
Any help is gratefully accepted.

No Trees available on Internet that I know of.
I will send you my tree when I learn how, when my son visits. Did you
retrieve my "origin of Ziegler name?
I have 3 different family trees in my file, so If I send you mine it may not
be your line.
Most of my research is done in the York Co. Historical Soc., they have a
Vital Statistics File (marriages, births, deaths, etc.) also a Ziegler file
containing many various info. on the family (letters of inquiry, papers on
the family submitted by individuals) . I can send you my info. by mail if you
