Earl, The information I have talks about Jacob Ziegler(2) & Rachael
Larson having six sons and 1 daughter:
Jacob(3) Benjamin(3) Mary(3)
Joseph(3) Michael(3)
William(3) Joram(3)
then under the above:
(Jacob Z. entered 640 acres, all on or near Bledsoe Creek in 1786)
then:
Daughters of Jacob(1) Zeigler & Wife, Miss Buckwalter:
Elizabeth Married Payton Tyson
Katherine " William Parker
Easter " Pat Ramsey
Nancy " Peter Angle
Susan " William Ramsey
Magdaline " Benj. Semones
Barbara " Page White
No further record.
then it goes into
Joshua(3) son of John Zeigler & wife, Mary Ann Brock
anyway I agree it had to be talking about the Sr Ziegler, so I moved the
sentence about Bledsoe to Jacob Ziegler(1)'s (more) info. Also it had
to be in VA. where both Jacob (1) and Jacob (2) died.

Hi,
I got a copy of some estate papers of John ZEIGLER in Richland Co., OH
only to discover that it was not my John ZEIGLER, nor was it directly
related to Ohio. It seems that some of the Children sued one of the
Guardians (Peter OPP, then a resident of OH) for their share of the
estate (which it seems he thought was his for taking of the kids). At
any rate, I thought it might be useful to someone, so I have included
here some of the more pertinant information. John died in 1814. The
suit was in 1833- 1835. In the papers it speaks of John dying
intestate, however there is also a copy of the will. I am not sure
what that means. The originals are in Manchester, Ohio. Anyway, I
hope this is helpful to someone.

Results of my ZIEGLER research show the following - not much.
Eitel ZIEGLER married Catherine MOEHANN
Their son:
Joachin Christoph ZIEGLER b 24 May 1724 in Germany, d 25 May 1760. (?)
Christina WESSELL, daughter of Bartold WESSELL
Their daughter:
Sophia Helen ZIEGLER b 13 April 1761 in Lippe, Horn Co., Germany
died 16 Sept 1852 in Adams Co., PA buriel in Upper Bermudian Cem. Adams
County, PA. She married on 6 Feb 1780 in Hanover, York Co., PA
John LEAS II, son of John LEAS I. It is a family tradition that
when they married she could speak no English and he could speak no German.
When Sophia applied for a widow's pension, she wasn't sure of the dates, so
that may be the discrepency in her father's death and her birth.
My ancestor, George Leas was one of their 14 children.
Does anyone know of these ZIEGLERS? I can share LEAS, but the above is all I
have on the ZIEGLERS. Thanks.

Hi everyone. My printer is in the shop and its got me at a
standstill. I am interested in getting a scanner maybe Hewlett Packard
for about 285.00. At least thats what they paid for one where I work at
Kirtland Air Force Base. I sure would like to know how everyone I am
writing to is related to the Jacob family tree and if you could send
pictures of all your family members. I have a place in Family tree
maker that allows pictures to be inserted. I know I haven't sent allot
of requested information out, but soon as I get my scanner I will put it
all directly in to the family tree maker for everyone. I was talking to
my uncle Dewey who I am trying to get to hook up to the internet. He
says the name Yohand Lopold Ziegler was probably Johann Lopold Ziegler.
I know there are thousands of Johanns in Germany so its a thought to
consider. Of course we need to find a reference. Speaking of
references, I was talking to Dewey Mann and he said most of the
information in our tree came from Christian Farrell Ziegler born 1906
and died 1995. Christian Farrell Ziegler Was called Cricket and she had
mentioned that she remembered sitting on her great grandfathers lap
when she was about 4 years old and he would tell her lots of old
stories. Her father was William Giboney Ziegler and her grandfather was
Jacob August Ziegler who was married to Annabella Gibboney. The letters
found in the attic at 908 Boylston St in Chattanoga Tennessee were
written during the Civil War. They were written in one color of ink and
the turned sideways and written in another color ink on top to save
paper. Dr. Hayme and six students deciphered them and sent Dewey and
Charolet a copy and a copy to myself (Jack). I have typed about half of
them in MS Word out of 103 pages of them. As soon as I get a scanner
I'll rescan them all exactly as presented, and resend them out to
everyone. If you can send me copies of your trees as attachments please
do so, I am sure we all would find interesting information that we need
to add to our trees.
I am so glad I have found this group and I would like to visit each of
you and find out what Ive missed all these years.
Yours truely
Jack and Lorriane Ziegler

My great-grandmother Barbara ZIEGLER was born in 1857. On her memorial
prayer card it states that she was born in Gueblange, France on May 17.
However, I have the marriage document for she and my great-grandfather,
George BOUHL. They married in March 1881 in Geblingen, Germany and it states
that she was of Catholic religion and had been born 17 March 1857 in
Geblingen. She was the daughter of ? ZIEGLER and Maria Johnanna (WAGNER).
George was the son of Nikolaus BOUHL and Johanna (REICH). He was born 07
Feb 1855? in Happelkinger, Germany. I hope to learn if Barbara was born in
France or Germany and the first name of her father.

Dear List,
As this is my first posting to this list, I hope I do it correctly. I signed
on to the list about a week ago and have been reading LOTS of info on
Ziegler's of the world. I am relatively new to genealogy, so am baffled
about just how to jump in.
My maiden name is Ziegler and it was because of this that I decided to begin
genealogy. My mother gave me some information (unverified by me) that a
distant relative, Urban Ziegler from Wisconsin, had provided to her in the
70's sometime. It begins with:
1 Christopher ZIEGLER, m. Margaretta GREUL 30 January 1792
2 John George, b. 16 February 1793 in Bavaria, d. 30 December 1858 in
Norwalk, WI, m. Anna Mary SCHRAUD, 18 February 1819, b. 1794 and d. 1840 in
Bavaria
3 Michael, b. 1825 in Germany, d. 1890, m. Anna Mary ZIEGLER(?) 20 April
1849, b. 1819, d. 1891
4 John, b. 1847, d. 1912, m. Lillybelle ?, b. 1857, d. 1933
5 Gertie, b. 1878, m. George BAUMBACK
5 Josie, b. 1880, m. Louis FRANCES
5 Millie, b. 1884, m. Howard TRIPS
5 Clara, b. 18 November 1886, d. October 1973, m. Roy WOODLIFF, b.
8 October 1885, d. January 1976

******************************************************Hi Virginia,
Oburg Bob again,
I note Bob Valentines email to you on this. You are in good hands. Bob
sent me a copy of his Frederick Zeigler (Fritz) descendants. It is
great, the best. He has done excelent work on this.
On my email strike, "please send me what you have on this line," and add
please send me anything that you and Bob come up with that is not in
Bob's descendancy tabulation.
Best regards, OBURG BOB H. ____
