John L. Moore
MANSFIELD--John L. Moore, 81, 372 Pennsylvania Ave., died Friday afternoon
at the home of his daughter, D. Marie Brannon, following an extended illness.
Mr. Moore was born Sept. 15, 1908, in Jackson County to Peter Yeager and
Elizabeth Carney Moore, now deceased. He came to Mansfield in 1958 from Belpre.
He was employed in the service department at Spitzer Motors for 18 years,
retiring in 1985. He also operated several service stations in Mansfield. He was
a member of Diamond Hills Baptist Church.
Surviving besides his daughter are a son-in-law, Bernard F. Brannon; two sisters,
Orpha Prince of Davisville, W. Va., and Laura Gunderson of Stoddard, Wis.; two
grandsons, Bernard Michael Brannon with the U.S. Air Force at Homestead Air
Force Base, Fla.; Larry Steven Brannon with the U.S. Air Force at Eglin Air Force
Base at Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a granddaughter, Patricia Marie Greiwe of Mansfield;
and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Zola Zile Zickefoose Moore, in 1972; two
sisters, and one brother.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Finefrock Funeral Home
and at the White Funeral Home, Coolville, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Coolville Cemetery by
the Rev. Robert Sanders, pastor of the United Brethren Church.
