Hi Folks:
This little group sounds like it may have great potential as an
information disseminator. There is one thing I have on my mind this
morning, and that is the Names ( I already have ------Paul Cox in the
Pacific Time Zone and town unknown: and Herman Clark in the Eastern Time
Zone--town unknown)and I presume there are at least two others out there
somewhere. I have given my location and a very brief summary of my family's
history, and would really be appreciative if I could receive the same from
the rest of you. We do have lots of history to share with you, but this
should be a two-way street as we here are anxious to learn more of our new
found cousins.
One of our oldest stories in this part of the clan is that of the
first Robert Conner, who at the age of 16 yr. ran away from his home in
Ulster (Ireland) in the year 1746, and eventually ended up in Virginia,
raising a large family, who then proceeded to try and populate the far west.
There---you have another little teaser from my side of this clan.
Another teaser is the fact that my wife Cork has a cousin whose husband
traces his line back to Catherine Hull and the Peter Zickefoose, and while
traveling around in Virginia, ran right into them.
Now a note to Herman Clark--concerning the AOL Instant
Messenger----I am hooked up with oregon educational network (orednet) and
our service is quite reasonable and very satisfactory, but thanks anyway for
the info. Yes, it is a great experience to get around England, we spent 10
days there in '92 and had such a good time, went back in '93 and spent a
whole month in England, Holland and Belgium stomping around some of our old
battlefields, and mostly visiting some relatives and some very good friends
in England and especially in Holland. I am currently in contact with 4
Dutchmen -3 by email, l by snail mail and this is in addition to our mail
back and forth to our Brit friends and relatives.
Enough for this load of poles. Will be eagerly waiting for your
response.
Jim
