Hello Lindsay,
Could your Abraham Zeman have been a Zemansky, Zamansky, Zemanek or any other variation of
the name before becoming Zeman?? I am looking for a Solomon Zeman (previously Zemansky)
from Poland who apparently settled first in upstate New York and then moved to Manhattan.?
There were several Abrahams in the family, one of whom became a prominent New York City
physician.? He, however, retained the name Zemansky.
There are many Zeman/Zemanskys in California.? I am just beginning to explore the
connection between some of them and the New York Zeman/Zemanskys.
I doubt any of this is of help to you, but I couldn't resist writing.
Best wishes,? Barbara

Subject: [ZEMAN] Hello Everyone!
Hi,
I'm Lindsay. I have recently started some family genealogy work and found I
have an ancestor named Abraham Zeman. Below is all the information I know about
him and his wife.
Abraham Zeman
B: 13 Mar 1869 in Poland
D: 30 Nov 1945 in San Francisco, CA, USA
His wife was...
Annie Wittenburg
B: 13 Mar 1874 in Poland
D: 30 Sep 1973 in San Francisco, Ca, USA
Abraham immigrated in 1901 from Lodz, Poland to New York. Annie immigrated
with three children in 1904. They had one child in New York and moved to San
Francisco after the 1907 earthquake (abt. 1908). Three children were born in
California. (Total of 7 children).
If anyone knows of anywhere to try and find more information about Abraham's
life in Poland and his ancestors please let me know! Thanks a bunch.
Lindsay
