Hi,
We were given a photo album of a woman who died in a nursing home in Southern
California to see if we could find relatives to return it to. Many of the
earlier pictures seem to be from the Chicago area (possibly some of the very
old pictures were from Poland) but the pictures run up through the mid 1990s.
Here are some, not all, of the surnames that were found on the backs of the
pictures.
NOTE: All spellings are as best as I can read but some are difficult to be
sure of. Will put a question mark behind the ones that I am the least sure of.
If any names sound familiar please contact us at dddarwin(a)aol.com.
The Surnames Are:
SLIZ
STOJOK
WALCZAK
ROLEK
CZESAK (?)
RUTKOWSKI
BERNA
ZELLERS
PARKER
BARTUS (?)
My reasoning for the Polish Catholic is due to the fact that there is a
certificate of some type dated 1893 which reads "Polska Rzeczpospolita
Ludowa" at the top left hand corner. Also there is a couple of pictures, one
that seems to be a Confirmation picture of a young girl and a wedding picture
which appears to have a Roman Catholic Priest in it.
Let me know if anything sounds familiar or to ask any question. Feel free to
send this to other lists that you think might be of some help. If you can
just let me know what lists it was sent to so I can keep track of where it
appeared and possibly not duplicate the message.
Thanks, please contact Gretchen or Don
