John W. Zeller
John W. Zeller did not show up in the St John,s Catholic Church records at
New Baltimore, Pa. The 1880 census shows him as 15 years old.
Birth place not confirmed. 1870 census shows Post Office for family to be New Buena Vista,
Pa. in Juniata Twp. Since his older brother does show in the St John's records it is
possible that he was baptized elswhere, but was born in Bedford County. The Jamestown
birth reference is believed to be to a village near Dudley, Pa (not the current Large city
of Jamestown) and not a great distance from New Buena Vista. There were coal mines there
and there is some evidence that John W's father might have worked in the mines at that
time. His brother, George Emanual was baptized at Dudley, Cambria, Pa.
Death - From the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Newbury (Paxico), Ks. death records:
"15 Feb 1940, John W. Zeller died from Cancer, age 76. Born in New Baltimore, Penn.
Buried 17 Feb 1940 at Newbury Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lot No. 61."
Went by nickname "Cider John"
Please contact me off line. I have much Zeller data. My wife is the daughter of Nicholas
John Zeller, brother to Dominic.
Bill
