I am also attepting to locate Hannah's line. I am thinking she is somehow related to
John Clark and his wife Elizabeth Niewenhuisen. They could be her parents and they are
witnesses to a baptism. Usually the sponsors are husband and wife, but I cannot be sure
this is the case here? In the ca 1706 "census" for Staten Island there is a
John Clark, age 23 that is proably the same John Clark above. From what I understand,
Hannah was born about 1730 (some have her as the same Hannah Clark born in Sufolk NY in
1741 - which is impossible). If John is the father of Hannah, which is possible but cannot
prove. Then John's father was Edward Clark (see below)
From Staten Island and its People:
Clark - There is an early mention of this name in a land grant to Edward Clark in 1680,
whose son apparently was John Clark, aged23, of the census of 1706. We do not find any
further references to this family nor any connection with Dr. Ephraim Clark, whose name
has been given in our chapter on Medicine. Mr. Delavan's history of the Guyon-Clark
family is under Guyon. (page 877).
Ephraim Clark is also connected to the Port Richmond Dutch Ref. Church - the same church
Daniel Zeluff and Hannah are associated with.
I am related to this family through their son Solomon, then his daughter Mary who married
Paul Latourette (both buried at Port Richmond DRC and stones still standing) One of Paul
and Mary's son's (John) married a Nancy Clark, and I belive her mother's name
was Sarah. Anyway, I decend through the Latourette line. Robert
