Hi Jody and welcome!
There is wealth of information (and lists to choose from) on
http://lists.rootsweb.com/
You may wish to explore both the Hessen and Bavarian lists. Someone there will guide
you along to help you find your town(s).
You didn't mention the ages of these passengers - do you have that info?

Subject: Michael, John, Joseph Zeitler
I have not been able to find out the village that my family came from
in
Germany. Michael Zeitler & wife, Marie (Engelman) and several children left
from Bavaria in 1845. Also on the ship with them were John Zeitler and wife
Benigna (Koess) and several children.
In 1855 my ggrandparents, Joseph Zeitler & wife, Theresia (Dietz) left
Germany (the passenger list says Hessen, however they always said Bavaria on
U.S. Census). With them were 3 children, George (my ggrandfather, Henry &
Anna.)
This was a Catholic Family who came through Buffalo, New York and settled in
Dayton, Ohio.
