I'm searching for information about William B. Fife and Mary Ann Zeigler/Zeagler. They
married on 2 Nov 1834 in Catahoula Parish LA (the marriage license is recorded in the
Catahoula Parish Marriage Book G, page 193). Mary Ann is a younger sister of my
4G-grandmother, Nancy Zeigler/Zeagler Valentine/Volentine, and daughter of John
Zeigler/Zeagler and Sarah Lavica. She was the youngest of 10 known children of John and
Sarah.
I know very little about William and Mary Ann. One internet family tree site indicates
that he was born about 1824 in Catahoula Parish, without citation of the source
documentation or identification of his parents. Mary Ann is listed as being born about
1826 in Franklin Co MS. The same site indicates that William and Mary Ann had two
children: daughter Vidalia (b. ca. 1846) and son J.C. (b. unk.). No death or burial
information has been found for either William or Mary Ann.
I've found a reference to a John M. Fife, who served as a witness to the 29 Nov 1846
marriage of Thomas Rouse and Susanna Zeigler in Catahoula Parish. I've not been able
to find any information about John M. Fife that would connect him with William B. Fife.
Any information or leads about William and Mary Ann and their family would be appreciated.
I'm also hoping to connect William to another Fife name in my genealogy database,
Sarah J. (Sallie) Fife (b. ca. 1856 LA), who married Samuel Houston Bannister on 8 May
1879 in Caldwell Parish LA. Samuel is the younger brother of my 2G-grandmother, Isabelle
Bannister Valentine/Volentine.
