Hi Arlene,
I believe we are talking about two different John ZIGLARS. The 1850 Stokes
County, NC Census lists my John as being born in VA. It also lists his wife
as Elizabeth PATTERSON on the NC Marriage Bonds List. I don't believe they
were ever in Kansas. He died in Stokes Co., In 1867. My grandfather Julius J.
ZIGLAR took a Conestoga Wagon through the Cumberland Gap to Pulaski Co., KY.
Thank you for responding, I appreciate it. Vi
Dear Bryan,
My John ZIGLAR is different than yours, I believe. I have John ZIGLAR born in
1787 in VA . He died on June 1,1867 in Stokes Co., NC . I have my John
ZIGLAR'S will and it mentions Elizabeth as his wife and my Great Grandfather,
Julius A., as his son.
Thanks for your response, Vi

Hello Cliff, The only thing I have in common is the name of Elizabeth who was
called Betsy and was born 1812 to Native American Indian family named R. C.
Taylor from Pennsylvania. I see your information is back in 1816, my
Elizabeth was on their way to Kansas at that time. They were with the
Westward Migration. ok, Arlene
Searching for information on the ZIGLARS of NC and KY. I have John ZIGLAR
married to Elizabeth PATTERSON in Stokes Co., NC on 25 Aug. 1816. John and
Elizabeth's son, Julius A. ZIGLAR married Mary A. PATTERSON, daughter of
Julius PATTERSON. Are there any ZIGLARS working on this twig of the ZIGLAR
Tree?
only info I have is John married Comfort Elizabeth Wilson in Indiana and moved to Manchester, Kansas. They had 4 children, a boy that died at 41/2 yrs and 3 daughters. Heneratta(married Jones-my line) Elizabeth(Beaty)(married Young) and Mary(married Curtis). Heneretta died in 1895,grandfather was only 2 when his mom died. Raised by grandmother Comfort and Aunt Beaty. If this sound familiar to anyone, please E-mail me at KChillbilly68(a)aol.com
It seems there are a lot of Zeiglers not related. My family info starts in Indiana with John Zeigler. Married Comfort Elizabeth Wilson. they had 4 children, 1 son that died at 41/2 yrs. and 3 daughters. They all moved to Manchester, Kansas in the 1870's. In Comforts obit is listed John & Frank Zeigler from Salina, KS and H.M. Zeigler from Ellis. Trying what ever I can to make connections so, if any of this sound familiar, E-mail me at KChillbilly68(a)aol.com. I'd love to get a connection going on. Thanks, Ann
Not sure if I can help much. I haven't been able to find too much on my Zeigler line but always looking for info. The John Zeigler that I have or at least where his history began as far as I've found, started in Indiana. He married Comfort Elizabeth Wilson and moved to Manchester, Kansas. they had 4 children, a boy that died at 41/2 yrs., 3 daughters, Heneretta, Elizabeth (Beaty), and Mary. After Comforts' death, no one heard from John. In her obit, There was listed John & Frank Zeigler from Salina, Kansas and H.M. Zeigler from Ellis,KS., Don't know if this will help but if something here matches what you have, E-mail me at KChillbilly68(a)aol.com. Maybe we have a connection somewhere down the line. Take Care.
