Hello
I am new to this list and am hoping that someone may have come across,
or have some knowledge of, my grandfather's family in Stolp, Germany. My
mother thought that there had been no word of the family after WW1.
For years I have been stuck at this point with my Zastrow family. My
grandfather was Paul Herman Friederick Zastrow born c1870 Stolp, Germany
(now Slupsk, Poland) the son of Robert Herman Zastrow, a carpenter, and
his wife Friedericka Boetcher.
Paul as a young man came to Australia via England and finally settled in
New Zealand. He married in Wellington NZ, his fiancé Elizabeth Finlayson
was born at Ulmarra on the NSW Clarence River where they originally met.
Paul and Elizabeth Zastrow lived at New Plymouth NZ.
My mother, Thelma, was the only child born to Paul and Elizabeth, and
was orphaned as a child and had no knowledge of any Zastrow relatives in
Stolp.
I have inherited a collection of postcards of views of Stolp c1900 and
on one of these cards is written my brother's school - no name for this
brother! Or even whether the brother was a student or teacher.
Do these names fit into anyone's family?
