ANTHONY A. ZAJAC, GILPIN
Anthony A. Zajac, 72, of Myers Road, Gilpin, died yesterday (April 7, 1989) at home.
He was born June 17, 1916 in Leechburg and lived the past 23 years on Myers Road.
Mr. Zajac was employed for 42 years as a shearerman at the Bagdad Works of Allegheny
Ludlum Steel Corp. and retired in 1976.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Zajac also was a member of the Hebron Evangelical Lutheran Church, Leechburg and
Schenley American Legion, Gilpin.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Betty J. Wyant Zajac; three sons, Dr. David
Israel of Richmond, Va., Anthony Zajac of Cleveland, Ohio, and Thomas L. Zajac at home;
five grandchildren; three brothers, Paul and Stephen Zajac, both of Cleveland; and
William Zajac of Parma, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Caroline Budjac Zajac; two brothers,
Joseph Zajac and Frank Zajac; two sisters, Mary Zajac and Sister Bernadette Zajac.
Friends will be welcomed tomorrow from noon to 1 p.m., 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in Clawsons,
a Community Care Funeral Home, Second at Main, Leechburg, where a funeral service will be
held Monday at 1 p.m. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Edward Sheehan. Burial
will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
