Frank Zajac, Jr., 93,
of Turnpike Road, Union City,
died Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Corry Manor,
following a lengthy illness.
Frank was born in Grindstone, Pa.
on December 21, 1918,
the eldest child of Frank and Mary Baron Zajac, Sr. He was a lifelong dairy farmer. He was
also an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers fan,
following them all his life.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Farak Zajac on April 8, 2007;
four sisters, Mary Farak, Bertha King,
Helen Kurt and Frances Tidd,
and by two brothers, John and Joseph Zajac.
He is survived by one son, Frank J. Zajac and his wife Dorothy of Bath, N.Y.;
two sisters, Sophia Kurnava and her husband James of Cleveland, Ohio and Julia Zienka,
Mentor, Ohio; three brothers, Stanley Zajac and his wife Louise, Bear Lake, Edward Zajac
and his wife Olga, Wattsburg,
and George Zajac and his wife Pauline, Harborcreek;
two grandchildren, Richard Zajac of Rochester, N.Y. and Stephanie Mirabito and her
husband Jeffrey of Binghampton, N.Y. and by numerous nieces and nephews.
No calling hours will be observed.
Burial will be at St. Teresa's Cemetery, Union City
at the convenience of the family.
The C.S. Warthman Funeral Home, 69 North Main Street, Union City, is in charge of the
arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Elgin Beaver Dam Fire
Department, Elgin, PA 16413.
