Hi Laura
I agree - they probably weren't brother-sister. However, I spoke to my mom and aunt
(age 76), who said that my grandmother had several brothers but most were babies or young
when she left in 1923 and one had already died. Your grandfather would have been two
years old when my grandma left for the U.S. She also said that my grandmother had many,
many cousins on her father's side (Zajacs) and though she didn't keep in touch
with her family, there were two cousins (girls, I think?) that she did keep in touch with.
BUT here is the tell-tale information that could provide a link, if indeed there even is
one - my grandmother's father lost one of his arms in a war before 1923. Any
one-armed men you know of in Waddy's family? Father? Uncle?
I'll check a Poland map next time I'm at Rand-McNally to see how close Krakow is
to the "M" town my grandmother came from. If you don't mindmy asking, are
you in England or the U.S?
