Hi, All. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Michelle Manley
Wells, and my husband is the Ggrandson of Isaac Kindred Wells. Orin informed
us just this week of the exact match of Isaac K. to both the Zachariah Wells
line (W020) and the Aaron Wells line (W016). I guess we are family #92 on
the Wells DNA chart (ID#131). Prior to the test, the only information we
have on our early Wells family is the following:
Isaac was b. July 14, 1830, in Jefferson Co., TN, we think; d. April 07,
1903, in Indianola, Indian Territory (Pittsburg Co., OK); m. Martha Ellen
Eastin, February 25, 1853, in Charleston, Coles Co., IL. Isaac is in the
1850 census in Coles County, living with Alexander Montgomery 42 b: AL;
Lucinda Montgomery 37 b: KY; 7 Montgomery children all born in IL ranging in
age from 4 months to 14; Isaac Wells 18 b: TN (no occupation given leading
me to wonder if the Montgomerys are not family). Isaac K. was residing in
Olney, IL, when he enlisted as Corporal on 1 December 1861. On 10 April
1861, he enlisted in Company A, 63 Infantry Regiment Illinois and mustered
out on 9 April 1865. Martha E. Wells filed for Isaac's military pension on
29 April 1903, according to the Civil War Pension Index. Their children were
John Andrew Wells (November 17, 1857), Cynthia Jewell Wells (February 22,
1861), Isaac Sherman Wells, my husband's grandfather (August 17, 1869),
Joseph C. Wells (March 09, 1872), and Mary Alice Wells (June 21, 1873).
I look forward to working with you to find yet another connection to
Zachariah and Aaron Wells. If any of the above rings a bell, please share,
as Isaac Kindred has been a "brick wall" for many moons now.
Michelle
