conncection with Robert , son of Robert and Ann.
Wilkes County, Georgia Deed Books A - VV, 1784-1806 by M. M. Farmer,
Farmer Genealogy Co. PO. Box 140880, Dallas, Texas 75214-0880. I found
it in the Family History Library, SLC. p.77
13 Aug 1789, Robert Wells, Senior, & Esther, his wife, to William Ratlif,
all of Wilkes Co., for 43 Pounds, a wagon, 2 horses & 1doubloon, 200
acres, adj.S.E. by Beard, N.E. by Oliver, N.W. by Jones, W. by Perkins ,
S.W. by vacant, granted to Wells, 24 Sept 1788 (signed) Robert(w)Wells,
Esther Wells. Wit.James Smith,Drew Smith. Proved by Drewry Smith, James
Smith, 28 July 1790 Thos. Wootten J.P. Reg. 5 Aug 1790.
In March 2000 on listed on the Wells Rootsweb list from Laurie Ann Wells:
Early Records of Georgia, Vol.1 and 2.
P.77--Wells, Robert Sr. and wifes Esther to Wm. Ratliffe, 200 acres
according to orig.grant 1788 to said Wells. Aug 13, 1789. Jas. and
Drewry Smith, test.
P.107--Coats, Nathaniel, Sheriff of Wilkes Co., to Robert Wells, planter,
200 acres on Soap Creek, sold at public outcry Nov 3, 1786 bought by
Charles Duke, and his claim not relinquished to said Robert Wells,
property of Phillemon Franklin against whom Stephen Heard and Thos.Duke
obtained judgement Apr 7, 1786. May 27, 1790 H. Mounger, P.P., Seaborn
Jones, test.
I will try to find the place and to whom two grandchildren were born in
this timeframe....in Georgia...
