Wells Lists:
You will receive this message when the lists come back to life. It is
Sunday, November 14th. One of the Rootsweb list servers has been down
essentially since November 2nd. They had a hard drive failure and have
been trying to reconstruct the digest lists and who knows what else since
then. I will only comment that they have not impressed me with their
backup plan. A mission critical business system would never have been able
to tolerate this sort of outage. But this is a free system so I guess we
can't complain too loudly.
So for those of you who were wondering what was going on, you now
know. Let's get back to the Wells genealogy busines
DNA Update.
We now have results from 44 participants at the new 37 marker tests with 8
more that are through the lab but I have not yet seen. Even this number is
too few to draw any conclusions from because they are scattered pretty
evenly across the different families. I will start posting the details on
the web site as soon as I get the remaining 8 results. For your
information, we have another 38 outstanding for the upgrades and several
more pending initial testing. While my own cousin with whom I share a MRCA
(Most Recent Common Ancestor) born cir 1626 now match 43 out of 43 alleles,
I remain cautiously optimistic that many of the remaining participants will
get some long awaited positive results from the upgrades.
