A followup on your question about the second marriage. It appears that these
were two different men.

Subject: [Zachariah Wells] Thomas Wells/Martha Boyd - son of Thomas and
Frances Wells
Assuming that Thomas Wells was the first born son of Thomas Wells
and
Frances _____ we seem to "know" the following
Thomas Wells b: cir 1683 possibly Anne Arundell County or Prince George's
County, Maryland. Mentioned in various Maryland records and in his
father's will.
Thomas Wells married Martha Boyd (daughter of John Boyd and Mary
Duval). The marriage was not documented that I can find but the births of
the following children are recorded in the Queen Ann Parish Register -
Maryland Hall of Records Liber 12 Folio 657
Thomas Wells b: 28 Jan 1710/1 - son of Thomas Wells, Jr and Martha
John Wells b: 26 Oct 1712 - son of Thomas Wells, Jr. and Martha
Mary Wells b: 12 Aug 1715 - dau of Thomas Wells, Jr. and Martha
It is reasonable to assume that they may have had other children.
However,
his will dated 7 Oct 1748 and probated 25 Jun 1751 only mentions
these
three children so we must conclue there were no others. Thomas Wells died
in 1751 - his will was proven in Prince Georges County (Maryland Wills -
Libr 38, Folio 253-4)
With this family we have two potential branches. Thomas b: 1710 and John
b: 1712 and we know them to still be living in 1752 (date of inventory).
In 1719 a document indicates that Thomas Wells, Jr. was in possession of a
tract of land called "Amptill Grange"
There is one genealogy I have found that shows a second marriage to a Mary
Disney 21 Oct 1721 in All Hallows Parish, Anne Arundell Co. A list of
children is also indicted:
Ann Wells
Cassandra Wells
Elizabeth Wells
Mary Wells
Samuel Wells
Sarah Wells
William Wells
Cavenah Wells b: 01 Jan 1750/1
If this is true, why is the wife Mary and these 6 children not included in
his will? Does anyone know what this is all about?
Does anyone have the text of the will?
Is there anyone on the list who is a descendent of Thomas through one of
his two sons?
