Many thanks to Patricia and Orin for the clues you gave a few weeks ago, I feel like
I'm on the brink of making some progress on my William R Wells (Mason County,
Kentucky, USA) brick wall.
Digging through some old notes, I found some associated marriage/burial info that I
made several years ago before I was sure if they were part of my Wells line. Can
anyone tell me if by subscribing to whatever I need to at
Ancestry.com, will I get
more detail or even an image of the record? (I have previously subscribed to the
census part so I'm only familiar with that aspect of
Ancestry.com)
Thanks for any insight, Susie

Hmm. Prather? A Prather family was very closely connected with the
so-called "Big
Wells" in what is now West Virginia. The name William was certainly used in that
Wells family. I was unaware that any from this family might have found their way
to Mason County. But they were certainly in other counties of Kentucky.
There is a fellow in Texas, I believe, who is deep into Prathers. I will see if I
can dredge up his contact information.
