I joined the list a while back and have been slowly working my way
through the archives here, into 1999 so far. The list seems a bit
abandoned, but just in case there are a few researchers watching out
there, I thought I may as well post.
My line is :
1. Zachariah Wells and Abigail Osborne
2. Jeremiah Wells and Elizabeth Culbertson
3. Johnson Wells and Jerusia Elkins
4. Harvey N. Wells and Louisa Ratliff
5. Gordon Wells and Martha (Mattie) Boatright
6. Irvin G. Wells and Margret E. Chandlee
7. Me
Like every one else it seems, I'm looking for exactly who this Zack was,
where he came from, and how he relates to Thomas Wells of Prince George
Co. Md.
Ken Wells
Granville Oh.
Ken:
I kind of monitor this list as I administer the Wells Surname DNA Study
Database ... it has 'most' of the lineages of men who have participated in
the DNA study.
Welcome to the list ... everyone is really super at helping. Good luck on
your research and if you need anything specific hopefully someone can help
... just ask if you need help from me..
I am desc from James Wells b: 13 Mar 1792 CT and died 3 Jul 1870 in Norwalk,
Ohio. They moved to Ohio around 1828 ... definitely before 1831.

If you have-not found the site hosted by Orin Wells, the Wells Family Research site he has
a lot of connections and he sponsored a DNA testing action and the results of the DNA
study are posted at his site. It gives an idea of the connections for Zachariah Wells from
the DNA results. I do not have the link here on my work PC just search Wells Family
Research or his name Orin Wells, There are a lot of Zachariah Wells Descendants that
visit/use the site. Orin was the one who pointed out a lot of errors, that have been
perpetuated over the years. They were honest errors that everyone was basing one a
publication from years ago by a descendant who printed it, but never did any true research
to verify his information, And now everyone assumes it is accurate.

Ken, FYI! I was just looking at the info and basically you are from the same branch as my
line1. Zachariah Wells and Abigail Osborne
2. Jeremiah Wells and Elizabeth Culbertson, I do not have my information in front of me,
but it is all at the Family Tree Maker website under my name. I was doing all of the
branches, as best as I could find, for my mother's family, the McMillan's who
settled in the western part of NC in what was Ashe county and later Alleghany County they
arrived there u=in the 1788/1789 period, as well as the Wells Family. I was doing the
Wells, McMillan, Robinette lies amongst the other lines of my little tree:-)
