A little more to add to the mix in regards to the Abigail/Elizabeth thing.
It is quite possible they could be the same person.
My name is Robert Gregory Scalf and I go by Greg. However, my first name is
named after family and middle name is what my parents wanted to call me.
This is common in Southern tradition. This tradition causes confusion
because one uncle calls me by Robert, another Greg.
I also have an Uncle that is named Melvin Scott Scalf. Same thing, some
folks call him Mel and others Scott, while others refer to him by the
nickname Poke.
I have not looked at the records close enough or had them out during this
dialogue, but it would not surprise me to find that Zach's wife is Abigail
Elizabeth Osborne.
Not a bad thing to keep in mind when doing any research in general in this
region.

All the more reason for someone to see if we can't verify the death
through
some independant means such as an obituary in a contemporary
newspaper or
records of the funeral home.
It is quite possible that the only thing that was present was a stone
that
read "Elizabeth Wells" and someone later replaced it with
the present
stone
and got the husband's name wrong - someone who mistook this
Elizabeth for
the fabled "Elizabeth Osborne" and assumed she was the wife of Zachariah
rather than his son Jeremiah.
I have contacted Opal Graber who will look into her notes to see where
she
got the death information for Elizabeth (Culbertson) Wells, wife of
Jeremiah. Maybe this will shed a little light. Maybe not. I am to call
her back at the end of the week.
More research needed here.
