Ken,
I went back throuh all the copies of deed transactions I have on Zachariah
Wells Sr., and nowhere do I find land that he disposed of having any
mention of his wife's name. It seems to me that the best way to resolve
land given to Abigail/Elizabeth by James Osborne's will would be to
identify said land, and then compare to land sold by Zachariah. Does
anyone have access to such records?
Eddie

James Osborne's will list all of his children. He list each of his
daughters by name and states that they are his daughters but he did not
list who they married? The will was dated 29 Apr 1816 in Russell County,
VA.
Quote from will:
1. I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth, in additional to what I
have given her, Ten dollars.
2. I give and bequeath to my daughter Abagale, in additional to what I
have given her, Ten dollars.
We probably can find our answers in the Russell County, VA deeds. If
James gave these two daughters land, then their husbands will probably
be on the deeds???
