Has anyone checked the National Archives for his service record or
pension papers if he got any?
If so what do they say?
& what does the #55 after Wise Co mean?
thanks,
kim

Subject: [Zachariah Wells] Grave site of Zachariah Wells
All of us have long wondered where Zachariah Wells is REALLY buried.
The
following comes from the
Ancestry.com website. Has anyone looked into
this
document? I wonder if it contains any specifics and when it was
compiled?
WELLS, Zachariah

Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots, Vol.4, p. -Serial: 11912;
Volume: 4
The source of this is:
Hatcher, Patricia Law. Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots.
[database on-line] Provo, UT:
Ancestry.com, 1999-. Original data: Hatcher,
Patricia Law. Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots, Vols. 1-4,
Dallas, TX: Pioneer Heritage Press, 1987.
This data appears to have come from the DAR records, which probably tells
us it may be open to question. The issue is whether this contains precise
documentation on WHERE this grave is located. "Family Cemetery" may or
may
not help if we are unable to find the cemetery. And so far as I have
seen,
no one has.
