The following is taken from a booklet at the Flemingsburg Library. Mr. Harry G.
Bartlett and Adrian Don McGavic took the survey on April 26/27, 1986. This Cemetery is
sometimes referred to as Penland-Hurst Cemetery, or Plummer Graveyard. It is also called
the Hurst Cemetery near Plummers Landing. It is ½ mile South of KY STATE RT#32 on Fleming
County Route #1013. It was cleared of underbrush and maintained, but for many years it
was neglected. Some of the existing headstones have fallen over, mostly due to the
deterioration of the base they rest on.
