Subject: [Zachariah Wells] Need some help with the project
I would like to request that everyone on the list who is a descendant of
Zachariah Wells of Lee/Wise County, VA send me a GEDCOM file so I can
merge
the information for the DNA project database.
This information will NOT be passed on to others. I will ALWAYS send new
folks to their cousins. The files will be stripped of private
information,
notes, sources etc. before it is passed on to the BYU database. The
researchers at BYU have promised me that the information we provide will
not be passed on to anyone, show up in the Family Ancestral File, or the
IGI but will be archived and secured during and after the project. In
other words you can send it to me in confidence.
Once I have the last of the Pedigrees in place we can start taking samples
and moving forward to having some answers.
If you are unsure of how to generate a GEDCOM from your genealogy
database,
do not be timid. Ask me and I may be able to help you through it. First
step is to pick up the documentation and see if there are instructions in
this. Next (maybe first) would be to check the "Help" option on the menu
bar of your genealogy program. Failing there, contact me and we will
figure it out if I don't already know.
Thanks for your cooperation.
