I'm not sure I'm referencing the right genneration Jeremiah

were almost as many Jeremiahs as Zachariahs, it seems to me anyway. My

son of Johnson Wells, the son of Jeremiah Wells. This was all (I think)
in the Lee County, VA area. Could this be the correct Jeremiah?
Nope. This would have been the Jeremiah Wells b: Abt. 1792 who married
Elizabeth Culbertson I don't know who Johnson Wells was off hand. I think
I have some material on Jeremiah here somewhere but I don't recall a Mahal
in that family. One has to ask how Zach T. Wells' wife could have written
a letter about her husband's grandfather that was this wrong. Or, was it?
She would only have been 60 at the time of that letter. On the other hand,
she may never have met her husband's grandparents because it appears they
were married in Kentucky and appear to have stayed there.
