I was pleased to hear of this website devoted to researching early Polish
ancestors. We have Lydia Zabriskie in the direct line (husband's
gr-gr-gr-grandmother) - her dates are 1780 - 1869 - married to David Peter
Haring. They are buried in the family burial plot in Norwood, NJ, their
graves marked by fine large stones. Her parents were Hendrick A. Zabriskie
and Wyntje Lydecker. The line may be followed in the Clifford Masten Haring
page of Dutch Door Genealogy. In case anyone is not familiar with the format
of this listing, females have odd numbers, and males, even. By doubling a
number you will have the number of the male parent of the person (thus the
female odd number when doubled gives you an even number for her father) and
her mother is assigned the next consecutive, hence odd, number. Lydia is
#17 - her parents are #s 34 and 35, etc. Good practice in brushing up your
arithmetic skills too!

(c1618-1711)
Thanks for the information. I'll let you if there are any
developments.
My
Zabriskie lines are through Van Houten, Van Saun, Wessels, Demarest,
etc..
I know these families are well researched.
I have access to the files at the Passaic County (NJ) Historical Society,
some of which George Olin Zabriskie used as source material in his book.
If
anyone outside the area needs help on early New Netherland lines,
I'll be
happy to do what i can to get you answers.
Regards,
John Williams
