I believe the old Indian trail went along the top of the Palisades of the HUDSON River on
the New Jersey side. TARRYTOWN (sp) is on the east side of the river where, nowadays, the
Tappan Zee Bridge goes across the river to South Nyack/Nyack on the west side. It is in
Bergen County, founded 1683, where there were several Zabriskie's (see my post). It is
somewhat south of West Point. It would have been a logical place for the Storm's to
have an inn since I think there probably was a ferry across at that point. It is an
active area for Revolutionary War arenas. Both sides of the river have mainly early Dutch
settlements. Look for other ways to spell Storm, perhaps Sturm, or ask your Dutch friend.
