The only mention of a cane is the "walking stick" that was passed down to
each male member that was named "Albert" and had passed down to a few of
the male lines that were named Albert. I cant recall right now whick
generation had been given the walking stick and it was lost in a fire in
that generation of Zabriskie.
You can look into the Books by George Olin Zabriskie, "The Zabriskie
Family" 2 volumes to locate who the last person was that had possession
prior to it being in the fire.
I am not aware of any other reference to a cane, unless it was recast of a
copy and not the original.
I would be interested in seeing a photo if one does exist that I am not
aware of.
Regards, Sharon

James Cannon Zabriskie was presented with an inscribed cane in 1863. The
cane had a massive gold head, crowned with a highly polished and beautiful
quartz specimen. The mounting is in imitation of a crown of octagon.
inscription: "Polanders of California, to their true friend, Colonel J.C.
Zabriskie, San Francisco, 1863." The presentation was made by Captain
Korwin Piotrowski.
Does anyone in the Zabriskie family have this cane? The Polish Society of
California in San Francisco will be celebrating its 150th Anniversary this
year (2013) and we are looking for a picture of the cane, and local
relatives of J.C. Zabriskie to invite to the celebration.
