Carl Zabel also known as John C. Zabel
Widow is Anna W. Zabel
Burials in Trinity Lutheran are on the site of the 2nd marriage of my great-great
grandfather Carl Wilhelm Zerbel, his granddaughter Hulda Zerbel married Peter Benjamin
Zabel.
If Carl Zabel was a general in the Prussian army and my grandfather was in the calvary in
the Prussian army and these burials (a small, small cemetary) it seems are for the brother
of Carl Zabel, Christopher Zabel. Who knows more about Carl Zabel? My grandfather seemed
to be dangling around, not attachable to any group, but if you were a deserter from the
Prussian calvary and your relative were a general in the Prussian army, you might not
disclose much information, either. Just a guess.
Can anybody help? Fairwater, Wisconsin is not very far from Manchester, Wisconsin and my
family had associations there as well. My grandfather lists his mother and father as John
Zabel and Anna Hinz on his marriage certificate. He emigrated in 1894.
