Grace,
I haven't had a chance to start on the census yet, but am about to start
now and have some questions. I'm assuming that I type the information in
columns like this:
Sheet # Page # Street House # Dwelling #
XX XX XX XX XX
XX XX XX XX XX
XX XX XX XX XX
And then what happens? Do I email it to you? And then what? Are we doing
this so it's easier for people to read than handwriting? I need the big
picture. Ok, I don't NEED it... I just want it. *wink*
Thanks for your help.
Connie
Connie,
Yes that's what we are wanting. It typed into the computer so that people
will have the resource on the internet of all the census and all the years
as they become available. So that will we not have to go the the local LDS
or Library to look up census records, they will just be on the internet.
Also a good point has been made by you. "WHAT TO DO NEXT?" When you have
done about 100 entries you will e-mail me and let me look at them. And okay
them. Alway's keep a back up just incase something happens while you are
doing them.
When you are finished you will need to have someone
proofread your work, this can be a family member if
you wish.
the proofreaders page is located at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/census/proof/index.htm
There are people we are willing to do the proof reading here also.
When your census is finished, you will need to read
the Completion Instructions at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/census/info/comp.html
This page should answer all of your questions about
what to do next. There is a place there, where you can upload the census you
have just done.
If there are any more questions please feel free to e-mail me.
Grace
