This letter was sent to me this past week. I was wondering if I should send
it to all of you but thought you'd like to know what is going on.
For the past year or so there has been two Census Project's. One is the
Census Project and the other we belong to are the Census Archives Project.
I really don't know the whole story myself so this is really all I know.
The National Coordinator Tim Stowell has been trying for sometime to get the
two projects to merge without any connection yet. From what I understand
there has been much bickering.
I have tried many times myself sign up for the Wyoming Census Project as a
coordinator but no one ever seem to want to talk. I did get ahold of the
Census Project Coordintor but it seemed to me that I wasn't good enough for
them. So I know Maggie who runs the Archives is a good person so I thought
I would just do the one.
Tim Letter reads...
Mr. Eason,
Executive Order 2000-E-1: Whereas your 'project' continues to be not in
good standing within the USGenWeb Project despite repeated requests to fix
your pages, does not answer mail in a timely manner, and has refused to
negotiate in good faith for a merger of the ACP and the CP, you are hereby
given notice that your project has been delinked from the National web site.
I regret that this must be done but I believe it to be the best for the
USGenWeb Project as a whole.
I do this within my rights as National Coordinator - under my day to day
administration duties.
The Webmaster has had no part in this - as I have done this myself.
Should the Board request further details of the Census Project's actions or
lack thereof as coordinated by Mr. Eason, they will be provided.

There has been latley much concern if what Tim did was right or not. But
from my experecne I believe it was in good faith.
Tim also has sent us a link to the census projects that has been done
already and they are still on-line. He didn't delink those.
They are of course still doing the Archives Census Project and don't worry
that is still going strong. Maggie who is the coordinator is a good and
wonderful person and seems to be in everything.
If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me. I'll try to answer
if I can and if I can't I'll find someone who can answer for you.
Grace
