Linda,
Thanks for the quick response!
I'm forwarding an email from Joy Fisher regarding changing our Table
of Content links to the archive file.

Subject: [ARCHIVES] Editing your tocs
Date: Wed, 28 Feb 2007 11:35:46 -0800
There are still some states (including mine) where the links to the ftp
files start out:
<ftp://ftp.rootsweb>ftp://ftp.rootsweb.......
Newer browsers (such as MAC Safari, FireFox and IE7) do not know how to
handle <ftp://>ftp:// and we have discussed many times the need to
change the links
to
<
http://ftp.rootsweb>http://ftp.rootsweb......
Now the new server does not know how to handle URLs that start
<ftp://ftp>ftp://ftp.....
even if your browser could handle it, so the tocs MUST be changed. That's
progress for ya!
The easiest way to make the change is to use either NoteTab or Homesite and
do a global change. You can have these programs do a find and replace on a
whole directory at once so you do not have to edit line by line.
You should be able to download the trial version of these programs to be
able to make the changes:
<
http://www.notetab.com/>http://www.notetab.com/
http://www.adobe.com/products/homesite/
I am sure there are other text editors that will also allow you to change a
whole directory at once. With homesite I did all of SDGENWEB at once.
Find what: <ftp://ftp>ftp://ftp
Replace with: <
http://ftp>http://ftp

I have Marshall, Calhoun, Pleasants and Ohio archives. I also do the
military site.
