Greetings from the Land o' the Maple Leaf.
I just spotted Pat Connors' message about this Swansea area list on the
Glamorgan list - thanks Pat. I subscribed at once!
My Swansea surname interests are:
Researching [genealogy]:
ARROWSMITH/Swansea/Any
DRYSDALE/Swansea/Any
LLOYD John & Ruth &descendants/Mumbles/Oystermouth/customs officer.1760+
MATTHEW/William & Lettice & descendants. Copperman.Trevivian. 1851+
NICHOLAS/Swansea & Mumbles/Oystermouth/Wales/1600+/any
THOMAS David & Ann & descendants. Blacksmith. Llansamlet Lower 1851+
I have a special interest in the CONSTITUTION HILL area, where my father
[born 1909] grew up. TERRACE ROAD and the MUNICIPAL SECONDARY SCHOOL FOR
BOYS, DYNEVOR PLACE, where my father was educated.
SWANSEA HARBOUR TRUST - does it still exist and does it have an archives
department?
SWANSEA OIL & GREASE CO. - does it still exist and does it have an archives
department?
I had great uncles [DRYSDALEs] who worked at these two places and died
young. I wonder if there are any records available.
I have many more SWANSEA related questions and look forward to pooling info
on this list.
With best wishes, Diana-in-Canada
