Dear Listers, Good to see another Welsh site. I thought it may be helpful to place my
interests as I think there are quite a few PEREGRINE names in Swansea. I am particularly
interested to know when the first siting of this name was in Wales and from whence it
came. My GrGrandmother was GWENLLIAN and she emigrated to Australia in 1850s
I have a baptism in Kidwelly HENRY son JOHN PEREGRINE January 2 1791
MARIA dau JOHN PEREGRINE August 17 1794
and also Llangyndeyrn Parish: HANNAH dau GRIFFITH OWEN June 13 1790
St Ishmaels Parish : HENRY PEREGRINE of Llandeveylog parish, labourer,
wedding married HANNAH OWEN of this parish Dec 28 1810

Haven't located the above family on any other census in Wales and am wondering where
to look next. Also there should be some more children between 1810 when HANNAH married at
20 and birth of ELIZABETH when HANNAH would have been 37.
The children appear on Bethany Independent Chapel baptisimal records along with JOHN
baptised 1832.
Hope this is of interest to someone. Thanks again, Helen Harris
