Jeff,
Thank you so much for the information on Sketty Methodist Church. The John
Blewitt Jenkins who wrote the piece about "Some Reminiscences of Sketty Old
Chapel" was my Dad's first cousin, son of Charles Blewitt Jenkins. Also, the
information the Charles was a tailor and originally from Pembrokeshire is
correct. I have a transcript of a letter that Charles wrote in 1901 in which
he mentions that he had come from Newport to Sketty. My Dad attended school
in Swansea. (I wonder how many schools there were back then around 1890 and
if any records are still available.) It was after that that the family moved
to London.
Thank you for your offer to look up the 1881 census information for me but I
received that information from a "lister" on the Glamorgan mail list. I
cannot tell you how much information I have received in just the few weeks I
have been on these Welsh lists. It has been exciting as Charles has been one
of my block walls.
Last night I found the downloaded pages, but they came through in code so I
really appreciate your sending the information another way.
