Ok.... So this is them
1851 English Census
Jane Dining 34 (b. abt 1817)
Thomas Dining 10
Margt Dining 13 (b. abt 1838)
Jonathan Dining 11 (abt 1840)
James Dining 3
Mary Jane Dining 8 Mo
I don't know if this is your Jonathan, but check it out. There can't
be too many Jonathan Dinning's born in New Castle Upon Tyne
http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=titch277&am...
What is strange is that there are few other census records indicating
that the children mentioned in 1851 were born in Wales. That Jonathan
I mentioned in the earlier email appears to be a match to the child in
the 1851 Census. Its just a few years off. In 1891 he was living in
Newcastle Upon Tyne. It does show he is married, but his family is
not with him.
There is an 1881 English Census that
Ancestry.com lists as a Thomas
Dinnery. If you ask me, it looks like Thomas Dining. This Thomas
Dinnery or Dinning was born in Swansea. And I don't see "Thomas
Dinnery" of wales listed in any other Census. If you want to see a
copy of the original, email me off list.

Hi Phil,
Thank you for your response. Jonathan married a Jane (either Evans
or Richards) hence my hoping to see the original marriage record.
According to freebmd (rootsweb) June quarter 1838 Swansea 26 723.
However Phil I have an apology, Jonathan was not born Swansea but
Newcastle Upon Tyne. No wonder you couldn't find a birth, with all
the trouble you have gone to, I have smacked my own hand.
His wife and some of the children where born Swansea before moving
to Newcastle Upon Tyne.
According to the 1851 Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland the family
there during that census with Jonathan away at sea.
The children born Swansea where according to 1851 census Newcastle
Upon Tyne
Thomas 1841, Margaret (unsure) and Jonathan 1840
One main problem I have is not knowing the last name of Jane who
married Jonathan. Thats the reason I was hoping to see the actual
marriage record or maybe Bishops transcripts and so on.
I am asuming that Jonathan met his Jane while busy about his work as
a seaman. I can't find any family connection that would take him to
Wales.
Thank you again Phil.I will follow your advice on the Ancestry census.
I was smiling when you made all those comments about
yourself......me to!
I feel I should have explained better..........
