Hi Alwyn, the census for 1901 just says,
Cockett Sketty,
Civil Parish; Cockett Sketty,
Town; Cockett Sketty.
I don't know if that helps any. Thanks Dianne

Hi Dianne,
Marriage certificate would show him as widower. Census doesn't
differentiate.
Cockett is part of Fforestfach, but the part that, in 1901, was in Cockett
Parish as opposed to Llangyfelach Parish. In 1881 (& possibly 1891) Census
it would probably have been "Swansea Higher".
Do you have an address from the 1901?
The census was in April.
Let me know if I can be of anymore help.
Heulwen

why
though on the census does it say Cockett Sketty, when I looked on
that map
website, Cockett and Sketty have Cwmgwyn between them, so I don't believe
theyre the same place. Also when a man remarries, does it say anywhere, eg
census or marriage certificate, that this is a second wife? . I hate this
time difference thingy between Wales and Canada, cause I have just
finished
work and I'm gung ho to start researching and you guys are
heading for the
sack, anyway Na Night.
