None of these look likely - actually I just bought a sub to
Ancestry.co.uk today and went through all of them. I happened upon
Powell Street at RG13/5077 folios 192 up and checked number 29 and
all the other houses in this street - no sign of JAMES, typical!
My Ellis Island reference gave the NOK in Swansea as "J. JAMES", I'm
now wondering if it could have been Joseph or James JAMES, but John
looked the most likely. I'm now going to go through the lot!
