If you find the entry - or any entry- on
www.freebmd.org.uk you will find a
link below the result about 'what to do next'. This explains what is in
typical birth, marriage and death certificates, and how to order them
directly from GRO online. If you click on the link for the district that
will tell you about what parishes were in the district during what years.
Not all the parishes that were in Merthyr Tydfil district in 1852 remain in
that district now, which is why I suggest you order from GRO - apart from it
being easier if you have a credit or debit card.
On the GRO site you will also find how to order by post or telephone, if
that is your preference.

Subject: [WLS-SWANSEA] OBTAINING A BIRTH CERTIFICATE - HELP PLEASE
I would like to obtain a copy of a birth certificate for LETITIA
DAVIES
registered in the March quarter of 1852 in Merthyr Tydfil - found on the
BMD Indexes.
Could someone please tell me where I could order this in Wales, either
by telephone or on line.
Thank you.
