Hi Anthony
Shacklefords Row was renamed to Crymlyn Street. The street is still in
existence today in the Port Tennant area of Swansea. It can clearly be seen
on an O.S map of 1880. If you go to
http://www.old-maps.co.uk/ click on the
co-ordinate button and type or copy and paste the following Grid Ref 268051
193280 Shaclkefords Row will be centralised, the map is dated 1884. Just
above the row on the map, you will see some other buildings, this was
Danygraig Farm. Directly to the left of the row you will see a large
building, this was called Danygraig House, probably built early 1800s. my
present home is on this spot. The waggon repair works, which your relative
in all probability worked is to the right of the bottom of the row. I don't
think its labeled. The buildings were in use up to a few years ago. The
railway and sidings on that 1884 map have also dissapeared recently.
If you like, I could take a picture of the present street and email it to
you.
Take Care
Rob
