Thank you so much Jeff for all the information on my g.g.Penrose
grandparents.
Some years ago I joined the Cornwall FHS to enable me to research my Penrose
family.I anticipated doing a huge amount of research and was most surprised
when another researcher sent me a very 'full' Penrose tree.
Emily Margaret,my g.grandmother married Frederick James Bradley who was from
Nottingham. My maiden name was Penrose Bradley and I was also born at
Nottingham. We moved to Cornwall 35 years ago,but it is only in the last 10 years
that I been researching my "roots".A distant member of the Bradley family gave
me the original draft of the Bradley Pedigree and from this I was able to find
my connection to the Penrose family at Redruth.I have also been lucky enough
to be given copies of three Penrose Last Will and Testaments
the first dating back to the early 18th century and these have given me
insight into their lives at that time.
I am assuming that my g.g.grandfather went to Swansea when the cornish
mining industry started to decline. What does rather surprise me,is that
G.G.grandmother Catherine Richards was born in Wales! I always thought that with the
surname 'Richards',she was of Cornish origin.I now intend to do research on the
Richards family,I have no info on them at all.I also need to know the place
my g.g.grandparents are buried.
Once again thank you for all your help.
Kind regards,
Elizabeth.
