Hi Jenny
If it will help you at all, Mark Argent was living at 52 Garden Street in 1921 - a Mary
Argent was also at that address, presumably his wife??

Subject: [Swansea] ARGENT FAMILY
Further to my first email, I have been advised to be more specific regarding
my name searches in Swansea.... so here's the first one:
I am tracing my maternal line and would be grateful for any information on
the following people.
My grandmother, FLORRIE MAY ARGENT, was born at 73 MADOC STREET, SWANSEA on
30 October 1897. She was the daughter of WILLIAM ARGENT, a Journeyman
Stonemason, (born 7 July, 1861 in Shepton Mallett, Somerset and died on 6 February
1913 at 52 GARDEN STREET, SWANSEA) and MARGARET WEBB (born 14 March, 1864
in BACK STREET, SWANSEA and died on 5 April, 1906 at 52 GARDEN STREET,
SWANSEA). They were married on 28 February, 1882 and their other children (all
born in SWANSEA) included: ELIZABETH (born c. 1884); LILIAN MAUD (born c.
1886); WILLIAM GEORGE (born c. 1890); MARGARET (born c. 1896) and CATHERINE
(born 1899).
WILLIAM ARGENT's father was also called WILLIAM ARGENT (born c. 1837 in
Coventry, Warwickshire and died on 15 July, 1902 at 2 WYNDHAM STREET, SWANSEA)
and was first a Labourer and eventually the Head Waterman for the Swansea
Corporation. He was married on 14 September 1856 in Birmingham to ELIZABETH
JANE DARE (born c. 1838 in Backwell, Somerset and died 17 March 1913 at 155
OXFORD STREET, SWANSEA). All their children (except for my g grandfather
WILLIAM, who was born in Somerset - see above) were born in SWANSEA, and they
were: THOM (born 7 May 1859); HENRY (born 15 June 1863); ELIZABETH ANN (born
25 October, 1865); SARAH JANE (born 22 March, 1868); GEORGE (born 20
October, 1870); FREDERICK JOHN (born c. 1892); MARK H. (born c. 1874) and ERNEST
(born c. 1879).
I also know that WILLIAM ARGENT (Snr) had a brother, ISAAC (born 1846 in
Dalton-in-Furness, Ulverstone) who also lived in SWANSEA and worked as a
blacksmith.
Many thanks.
Jenny
