I don't think so. Cwmbwrla is normally taken as the area around the
roundabout on Carmarthen Road where Heol-y-gors, Pentregethin Road and
Courtney Street come off., and Libanus Chapel stands.
If you go to
www.old-maps.co.uk and use the gazetteer to find Glamorgan ,
Swansea the map you get includes Cwmbwrla and nearby Caebricks as it was in
1884. Some of the road lines are unchanged, but there have been a lot of
other changes in 120 years.
A look at the not inconsiderable list of taverns and public houses in
Swansea 1858
http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/GLA/Swansea/slaters-swansea.html shows that
the only 'Angel' listed was in Llangyfelach Street. An 1879 map of the lower
Swansea Valley dated 1879 shows three public-houses on the east side of
Llangyfelach Street between the southern end and opposite where St. Joseph's
school is now, by Caepistyll Street. This would have been called Greenhill I
suspect.
1901 Census has a Henry MILES age 31, Publican, living in Swansea, born
Coleford, Glos. Getting a census image should show what addresses the nearby
properties had.
