Rossilly = modern Rhossili, on western end of Gower peninsula, village and
parish. Could be used as a house or farm name elsewhere.
Llandilotalybont = ancient parish covering modern Pontardulais, north of
Loughor.
http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/GLA/LlandeiloTalybont/ shows that there
is/was a place called Rhosilly in Llandilotalybont parish, though I can't
see it on a modern map. There are useful historical databases linked from
this page, by Deric John, and maps old and modern.
In the 1851 census of Glamorgan a place called Rhosili appears in Parcel
Ynysllwchwr, the part of the parish along the river Llwchwr (Loughor) north
of Pontardulais and is enumerated nor far from Hendrewen, a farm overlooking
the river just off the road from Pontardulais to Garnswllt. It was the last
property enumerated in that district.
Occupiers in 1851 were
H.O.107/2465, E.D.4A.

Another GREGORY family headed by Elizabeth, 83, farmer, was at Ynys-Lletty,
enumerated just before it.
I have found it on
http://www.old-maps.co.uk/ at or near grid reference
260604,206211.
From the distinctive bends in the river on that map you should be able to
locate it on a modern 1:50000 OS map, between the 200 foot and 300 foot
contour lines on the side of the mountain called Graig Fawr, not far from
what is labelled as Ynys Farm. In the 1883 map it appears to have two
orchards attached.
Maesydd = old name for a part of Landore, parish of Llangyfelach, also
spelled Meysydd. Look on Multimap or Streetmap for Mysydd Road or Mysydd
Terrace. People living there probably worked at the Landore Steel works or
one of several copper works. Wern Road, Plough Road and PentreTreharne Road
are nearby.
If you find a strange place-name, a Google search on that name combined with
GENUKI can often enlighten.
Trying
http://www.swansea.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=5673 there are
references to a Daniel GREGORY at Pontardulais, and in 1857 to a Richard
GREGORY of Pontardulais. In 1860 a farm in Llandilo-Talybont occupied by a
GREGORY was for sale, and again in 1861 other GREGORY farms in that area,
and there is a death of a Richard GREGORY aged 73. These marriages may
perhaps connect to the family at 'Rosilly' but may be coincidences of name,
cousins etc.
Cambrian B10 MARRIAGES, MARRIAGE 25 July 1862 MR.DAVID GREGORY,

Cambrian B10 MARRIAGES, MARRIAGE 26 September 1862 DANIEL GREGORY,

Cambrian B10 MARRIAGES, MARRIAGE 27 February 1863 20 FEBRUARY AT
PONTARDULAIS, JOHN THOMAS, TO MARY GREGORY, BOTH OF PONTARDULAIS.
In the 'Cambrian' you will also find a variety of persons called GREGORY in
Swansea area, business people, dock porters and those appearing in court for
a wide variety of reasons.
Hope this helps
