The career of the 'Prince Alfred' from its purchase by RICHARDSON brothers
of Swansea in 1865, when it was registered in Cork, to its total loss in
1875 (Captain and seven crew saved, rest perished) is reflected in various
reports in the 'Cambrian' newspaper
www.swansea.gov.uk/cambrian . She was
in Valparaiso, Chile in 1868 when there was an earthquake and Captain BEVAN
gave an account to the newspaper on her return.
