for obtaining
photocopies of items in the 'Cambrian'. It is actually in the interest of
continuing the Cambrian indexing project that copies be obtained in this
way, if possible, as it provides evidence to the library management that the
index is found to be of value.
Have you looked at a Swansea accountant in the Cambrian called R Garnaut
Calker, or similar. I suspect he may have been related. He did things like
administering bankruptcies in the 1870s.

Subject: [WLS-SWANSEA] The Cambrian - Garnaut family Swansea
Hello from Australia,
RE: GARNAUT family of Swansea
Wondering if anyone who lives near the library or the West Glamorgan
Archive Service would be willing to look up some info found in the
archives of The Cambrian newspaper 19th Century? I'm looking for further
information on my Garnaut ancestors and hoping some of the following
newspaper notices might contain full names for Mr and/or Monsieur Garnaut
(R11 & C10)
I don't know how I could pay you for the time & info, but perhaps an
exchange of searching? ie I live just outside Sydney and could search for
something for you?
If anyone is interested and available, here are the three references for
which I'm hoping to have even a rough outline (or a photocopy or scan?) of
the article/notice:
Kind Regards and Thank you!
Amanda
