In this case Henry Phillips is the father of the groom.
James Wedding is 1894; groom is 22 yrs old; add another 20 for dad = I
reckon Henry Phillips (Merchant Seaman) must have been born some time before
1852.
We know son James gave his birthplace as Carmarthen on 1901 census, and that
he was living at Neyland at that time, so its reasonable to surmise that
either Henry b.1838 or Henry b.1847 is James' father.
I'll have a look at your site. Please advise if you discover any more.

Hi Russell
The only Henry Phillips on my website are
two from St.Davids Pembs. born 1838 and 1884
(could be the same person as ages given on crew lists are
like the census) and one from St.Dogmaells Pembs. born1847.
Both unfortunately too old or was this a second marriage?
